A Christmas Story Christmas is a sequel to the beloved 1983 film A Christmas Story. Set in the 1970s, it follows a now-adult Ralphie Parker (played by Peter Billingsley) as he returns to his childhood home in Hohman, Indiana, after the passing of his father. Determined to give his own children a magical Christmas like the ones his father created for him, Ralphie faces new challenges, reconnects with old friends, and learns valuable lessons about family, nostalgia, and the true spirit of Christmas.

The movie was filmed in a huge backlot in Bulgaria, consisting of 14 American houses separated in 3 big streets. Interiors were shot in studio and a few practical locations.

One of the most challenging VFX tasks was extending the neighborhood. We had to set up 12 scissor lifts with 12×10 meter chroma screens to cover all angles. Another issue that arose during filming was the lack of snow. The SFX crew did a great job filling the close-up and medium shots with artificial snow, but all the wide shots had to be augmented in post.
