A young woman named Tess (Georgina Campbell) arrives at a rental house in a rundown Detroit neighborhood, only to discover it’s already occupied by a man named Keith (Bill Sarsgaard). Despite initial unease, she decides to stay the night. However, as she explores the house, she uncovers a dark and terrifying secret hidden beneath it.

The film was shot on a backlot and studio sets in Bulgaria.

I was hired by the local production company, Dare Films, to supervise the filming process. Due to the limited budget, I had to be very careful with how the scenes were executed and whether any additional visual effects were required. Together with the SFX and special makeup team, we searched for practical solutions.

At the end of the movie, we had a particularly long night sequence that was originally supposed to be filmed using chroma screens. Based on my previous experience filming night scenes, I provided them with a fully practical solution that didn’t involve any VFX. You can read about it in my LinkedIn post.
